Stag,Coo and hello Bo

Little while since my last update, but a few new works completed since and a new commission is underway. It's just a shame this horrid thing named 'work', gets in the way of happily painting full-time.

This fella went to join "Coo III" in the reception area of a local business. No sooner had the painting been hung ( coo III)  ... he sold😄. I quickly got on it and painted another coo, imaginatively called "Coo IV". This is how I roll. Everything numbered and stamped with my thumb print  😊. I think this fella might be my favourite Highland Cow to have painted?

I am very thankful to the business in question for contacting me,  and asking if I could give them some works to display. As well as the paintings being displayed, I am able to sell my work commission free. As any artist will say, selling on commission can be at times a little brutal.

At the moment I am working on a commission of a beautiful pooch named Bo. I went to meet Bo and his owner, and he is such a gorgeous hyper boy. Working with oils on this and it's 70x100cm. It's so far quite a process, and after working with acrylics the past 3 paintings, I'm needing to be fairly restraint. Lots and lots to do, but here he is on the easel....

Jarka

She has arrived, after weeks of waiting on drying times, and building up layers.. "Jarka I" is here. I'm very pleased with the result after quite a few rocky moments. I plan to work on several more portraits of my muse, including some new nudes. Presently researching portrait competitions to enter this piece into. Who knows, luck may be on my side?

Nude 1

Pretty happy to have finished this and with the result. My first play with oils. It has been a quite a learning curve, and I can't wait to get started on new work asap. In other news, tomorrow I take my painting to a new gallery. Exciting times...
